Ultrafast Coating
Melles Griot has developed a new coating, the /091, which is designed for ultrafast laser systems in the near-infrared. This all-dielectric coating centered at 800 nm, minimizes pulse broadening for ultrafast applications. The coating also offers exceptionally high reflectance for both s- and p-polarizations in the range from 750 nm to 870 nm. |

The ultrafast coating is ideal for high-power Ti:sapphire laser applications. This coating is superior to protected and
enhanced metallic coatings because of its ability to handle higher powers. For lower power light sources, the protected
silver /038 coating is strongly recommended for ultrafast applications because of its low pulse-broadening effect, as
shown in the figure below. The dispersion (pulse broadening) effects were measured using an autocorrelation of laser
pulses with a four-mirror test line. |

Melles Griot offers the /091 coating standard on both a 12.5-mm- and a 25.0-mm-diameter ultraviolet synthetic fused-silica
substrate. |
